Playstation3 is Here
Unless you have your head buried in the sand you know the Playstation3 has hit the stores. Back when I was a working dad I used to work in the Electronics department of Walmart. I remember when Playstation2 hit the stores and it was a huge deal. I mean very huge deal. People acted nasty, pushed each other over in the stores, and theft was also a large problem. It is almost as bad as the day after Thanksgiving when all the major stores offer their lowest prices on special items and people wait outside the stores for them to open the doors. Crowds of people charge in and a game of pushing and shoving turns to outright violence in some areas.
Updated: I rest my case.
So taking your child to stand in line for 2 days probably isn’t going to be a wonderful family event. Which leads me into popping the big question. Are you planning to get one, or have you already been standing in line for one, and if so, who will be using it more? You or your child?

$600, plus $60 per game? It’d be harder to find a stronger case of parental irresponsibility.

No! Would much rather be outside with my kids then glued to the tube.

Studies have demonstrated that children who play video games have faster reflexes and respond better in rapidly changing environments. If done in moderation, video games are not bad.

I am sure there are many benefits to playing video games. But like you said, in moderation…
