Playground Set For the Kiddos
My wife and I finally made a decision last week to go ahead and purchase a playground set from Sam’s Club for the kids. This thing is huge. Check out the image of this thing when it is all put together:

Well we have been getting some help from our family. Jess’s brothers have been over a couple times to help out. It is quite the project finding and putting all the pieces together. I think there are like over 75 steps involved. But we have been pluggin’ away at it and it seems to be going slow but steady. Haven’t really run into any major issues.
The most difficult step is placing spikes into the ground to stabilize the playset. Every time I drive a spike I hit a rock. It was the same thing when I put my fence in. Every time I dug out the ground to place my fence posts I hit rock. Typical New England rocky ground.
All in all it is going slow but real well. It has been fun and the kids are psyched for their new toy. They keep asking when it will be done. Honestly I don’t know. My hardest problem is finding the time but there are many more hours left to go into this thing. This is a great experience for Jess and I and also for the kiddos.
I have taken some pictures as we progress. I will save them until we are completely done and will show you the process.

We got a smaller version of the Wal-Mart swing sets and the kids love it. Ours is pretty much swings, monkey bars, little platform for the slide and then the slide. It was much easier to put together.
I already had to chase away some neighbor 5 year olds who decided to play on it in the middle of the day with nobody else around.

Your kids will have years and years of fun with their playground. We got a similar one 8 years ago and it was worth every penny.

I’d like to get one of those for my kids, but I have a feeling we’ll be moving in the next 6 months. I don’t want to spend that kind of money if we’ll be moving.

I selfishly would rather have a pool. Even though I know it is a very dangerous toy. My daughter loves the water and our church has a FABULOUS playground not 5 minutes from the house.

You’re right, Kelly. Your church does have a fabulous playground. Too bad it was too cold for us to play when we were there!
