Nooooo, Not a Meme!

Well they are at it again. I have been memed by my dear blog friend Tracee at Blog Fabulous. Apparently I need to write 7 things about myself. This could be tough but I’ll give it a shot. First the rules:

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog. Remember to leave a comment for them letting them know they have been tagged and to read your blog.

So let’s begin with some interesting facts about me:

1) When I was a kid I used to pretend I was MacGyver. I even started a spying club with friends where we went around spying on people (mostly in broad daylight). I’m sure we didn’t fool anybody.

2) Because of my infatuation with MacGyver and my spy club I actually built a small sized log cabin in the woods up behind my house as “the” clubhouse. I took my father’s handsaw and cut down trees by hand and used rope to tie the logs together at the corner. It took me a matter of days and our cabin was finally finished. It stood strong for 20 years and even made it through the ice storm of ‘98. It finally collapsed 3 years ago.

3) I tend to come up with great and innovative ideas while I take a bath. Sometimes if I need to think about something I will draw a bath so I can generate ideas. I came up with a business idea while washing myself in the bathtub. I still own the business today and it is growing with leaps and bounds. I try to take a bath as often as I can.

4) I have a fear of heights. Though most people do, I have trouble climbing on chairs, railings, or balconies. I have this infatuation with remaining on the ground at all times.

5) On my 22nd birthday nobody wished me a happy birthday. I was living in a strangers home in Bar Harbor, Maine with a roommate and good friend of mine. He had to be gone on business for the entire day. I even had to work but I never told anybody it was my birthday. After spending an entire day at work, I came back to the house only to find the owner of the house on the phone all evening. We shared the phone and we didn’t have cell phones then. So nobody was able to call me and I wasn’t able to call anyone. I spent that evening in my room holed up watching a Beavis and Butthead marathon.

6) I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live 200 years ago in America. I have a growing and strong interest in American history and culture. I sometimes wonder if I would have stayed back East with my parents and worked to help the family business, or ventured out West to look for more opportunity.

7) My favorite colors are beige and burgundy.
