My Child Just Got Into Pre-K, Down to 2 at Home
Yesterday we just got the word my 4 year old daughter will be attending a morning session of Pre-K starting next Fall. I am so excited for her. She can ride the bus with her older siblings and get the whole fun experience. I think it will be great for her to head off and get some time with other kiddos and deal with teachers.
But I also will be back to watching just 2 of the kids all day. 3 kids right now is a bit strenuous. The weekends and vacations get a little crazy with all of them home. I can’t imagine what this summer will be like. 5 kids under the age 7 is a big responsibility when you are home alone with them. If anything happens it is you who is responsible.
Anybody else take their kids to Pre-K? How has it worked out?
I know when my kids first started going to Kindergarten. When they got home they were so exhausted they ate a snack and crashed on the couch until dinner. I am sure when my daughter gets home from all the stimulation of school, teachers, and classmates she will be ready to nap all afternoon… right?? ;)

This year, our school started a 3-K program. Pre-pre-K, I suppose; two mornings per week. Our son has loved every minute of it! It helps that his teacher has a background in art. I’ve never seen a happier or more welcoming classroom.
The best part is that once a month, one child’s parent gets to help in the classroom. I didn’t miss a single day!
He’s starting pre-K next year, three mornings a week.
