Mother Tries to Sell Son For a Wedding Dress
OK here is my news story for the day to leave you all feeling nice and fuzzy inside. Blogging Baby gives us the story. This woman from Iowa wanted a wedding gown so badly she was going to actually trade her child for it. She was charged with one felony count of sale of an individual. OK this is sad. The child was 4 years old. Ok stop, think for a minute. For you moms and dads out there take a moment and close your eyes and picture your child at 4 years old. Now open your eyes. Now picture selling them off so you could get a wedding dress. Well I am sure you dads wouldn’t buy a wedding dress, but you get my point.
They said Gant bought a wedding dress from a local street vendor, paid part of the tab, and offered her son to make up the rest of the balance.
“During negotiations for the payment of this wedding dress, on at least two occasions, Ms. Gant offered her 4-year-old son as collateral,” Capt. Dave Struckman of the Davenport Police Department.
Neighbors said they were shocked.
Neighbors were shocked? Well sheesh…
I think it is obvious she is mentally ill.

Ah, good old Davenport. It’s always good to see the city you were born in make the news.
My wife has been trying to sell her wedding dress for years. Maybe I should track that lady down.

You could check all the mental institutes in that area… might be able to find her that way. :)
