Missing Toddler May Have Been Swept Away By River
This story has been all over the news in my area. Terrible tragedy. A mother left her 3 year old daughter unattended for 5 minutes only to come back and find her daughter had escaped and run outside. The door had been opened. She went out looking for her and they live right near the Aroostook River. With all the rain we have been getting the river levels are really high. Well she found one of the child’s boots on the water’s edge and later rescuers found the other boot 1 mile away on the banks of the river.
Well, they are still searching for a missing body but with no luck. It is such a sad thing for this to happen whether the mother was at fault for leaving her child unattended for just a few minutes. But the state has come and taken her 1 year old from her as she is currently considered unable to tend for her child in what may easily be deemed as child neglect.
This is a sad time for a lot of people in the area. :(
