Make your own Halloween costumes, or throw a party

by Bill on October 23rd, 2007

If you’re not likely to buy one of the many age inappropriate costume for your child this Halloween, chances are you may be thinking of making your own. Maybe the sheer thought of spending a small fortune on a mask that will be used once and forgotten is enough reason to test your costume making skills.

My brother was just saying this weekend how much fun he has with his two kids when they get creative and come up with their own costumes. If this sounds like something you’re interested, check out Thrifty Mommy’s top 10 do it yourself costume tips. It will help foster your creativity and keep you on a budget.

If you’re interested in showing off your costume handy work to some friends, Howstuffworks.com has a great list of ways to throw a Halloween party. From the obligatory jack-o-lantern to different themes, they’ve got ideas for everything from invites and prizes to decorations and games.

Either way, they’re two great ways to have a great and reasonably-priced Halloween.
