Is Your Child a Good Candidiate for Home Schooling?
I know my wife and I have talked about possibly home schooling our kids. The reason we have decided against it are 2 factors. 1) Our school system has one of the best education programs in the entire country and 2) The person who would be doing the teaching would be myself and I am not completely sure I am cut out for it.
I was not very well rounded in my academics. My strong subjects were Math and English and I really struggled through history and science. So I don’t think I would have been a good candidate for homeschooling without some sort of training. But I have been told by others there are books you follow and read up on that will help you teach your kids. With a college education and bachelors degree I am pretty sure if I really had to do it I could manage quite successfully.
But, what about your child? Are they a good candidate even if the parent is? Check out the following podcast and see what they have to say about it. I listened to it and I am interested to see what you all think.
