Family Phil Homeschools

by steve on October 20th, 2006

To home school or not to home school? Depending on where you live this question could mean two different answers. With the increase in school shootings, to banning tag at recess, I am sure some parents are considering homeschooling. What would this mean? Would it be harder or just that much easier if one of the parents was already at home? It would probably mean a less likely chance for both parents to get back out into the work place soon.

Phil, over at a Family Runs Through It, has made that decision. He is now homeschooling his 8 year old son and tells us a little bit about how the first 2 months have gone. So far nothing but good results. If you haven’t met Phil yet, he is a stay at home father in Idaho.

Personally, I would homeschool my own kids but the school system here is actually quite decent and is ranked quite high compared to other schools across the nation. If I lived in a different area of the state or in a bad city, I think homeschooling would be the way we’d go today.

Are you a parent who homeschools? Are you maybe thinking about it? Here is a question for you, if you had the opportunity to homeschool your kid(s) would you, and why?
