Families Without Fathers Are More Likely to Create Problems

by steve on May 19th, 2007

Today we see more and more single parent families and thus has a huge impact on the outcome of our youth. Children who grow up in single parent families are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, live in poverty, drop out of school, and become teenage parents.

They believe this is coupled with the fact that 24 million children grow up not having a relationship with their fathers. We have seen over the last couple of decades a fast moving trend where 1/4 of all homes had single parents and today that figure is well over 1/3 of all households.

With that being said, we are seeing that number continue to rise and by the year 2015 we will see 50% of all homes having single parents. We are not far from this as we have seen where 50% of all marriages end in divorce and that number continues to skyrocket.

So where do dads stand in all this? Are we losing custody battles over our children? Statistics show that more mothers win custody battles over their kids than fathers.

But no matter where us dads stand, it is destroying our children. Kids are growing up to become just like their own parents.

Is it too late to turn things around? What can be done?
