Celebrating our 8 Year Anniversary

by steve on June 21st, 2007

Today my wife and I celebrate 8 years of marriage. In the last 8 years we have been through so much it seems almost a lifetime. Though the time has flown by like a warm summer breeze, it has left so much on our doorstep.

5 kids later and we are in the thick of it. It is hard to think what my life would be like if I hadn’t ever gotten married.

So today we celebrate life, we celebrate who we are as a family, and we will be cooking up some good food. Unlike most couples, we will spend our evening together with the kids. We will feed them, read to them, and send them to bed. We won’t be dropping them off on someone’s doorstep for 4 hours so we can go eat at a fancy restaurant, rather we will be celebrating our life with our children at home, as they are part of our family and what 8 years of marriage has brought us.

I hope the next 8 years brings us as much joy as the first.

Congrats Steve! I’m one of those parents that likes to spend the anniversaries with family too.

I’ll have plenty to celebrate during the empty nest years so I enjoy the full ones while we’ve got them.

It’s great that you remembered! You’re already one up on most husbands.

Thank you guys. My wife actually called me from the office this morning and reminded me. ;)

Congratulations. I think that was a cool way to celebrate…with the whole family. Keep up the good work!

    Awwww, congratuations!

My husband and I actually use our anniversary to get out of the house for a few hours. We don’t have any family around to help out with the kids, so dates are rare!
