Only one child-related product recall this week, for an air pistol. The product is a little on the dangerous side to begin with, but the recall makes it worse! There has been only one reported injury so far.

Tree Hugging Family has a great post on the dangers of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and its use in common consumer products.
When children chew on vinyl toys like rubber ducks, they can be exposed to dangerous phthalates. PVC also gives the gift of dioxins when it is produced, recycled or burned. Dioxins are bad, bad.

Drug makers voluntarily pulled infant cold medicines from the market today on the heels of an FDA suggestion that the products should not be used in infants under two years of age.
