Balderdash the Game
This Memorial Day Weekend I had some time to spend with family and friends. We did a lot of things but one of the funnest of them all was playing Balderdash with everybody. We had 6 or 7 people playing the game it is a real blast.
Anybody here play it?
It is real easy. Basically how it is played is you get a bunch of cards kinda like in Trivial Pursuit. Then you read aloud a word. 99% of the time nobody knows what the word is. I don’t think anybody ever knew what the word was the entire time we played. Then you have to write down what you think the definition is. One person known as the “dasher” will know what the correct definition is and writes it down. Then you collect all of them and slip in the correct definition somewhere. Then all the definitions are read out loud to the group. You then vote on which one you think is the proper definition. You get points for guessing correctly or if somebody guesses your definition to be the correct one.
There are other topics other than words. There are movies. You get the name of the movie but then have to give the description of the movie. There are acronyms, laws, and people.
You can check out the rules of the game here.
But it is a blast. It obviously starts out serious but as the night goes on the definitions become funnier and funnier and before you know it you are laughing your butt off. It is a great family game for adults.
