An aside about gas prices
This is somewhat an aside from typical fatherhood-related post, however I find it an interesting notation of the times. For the first time today I paid over $4 per gallon of gasoline.
I just returned from a 116 mile road trip for work and averaged 38 miles per gallon, about which I was very happy. However, arriving at the pump this afternoon took the shine off of that short-lived glee. While I wasn’t thrilled about this, I couldn’t help but wonder:
1. What will U.S. gas prices be in 16 years when my son is driving?
2. When will we have viable renewable / alternative fuel vehicles without horribly toxic batteries? (Hydrogen, come on, I’m begging you! I’d LOVE a hydrogen 7-series BMW!)
3. What is everyone else paying for gas?
Any answers or comments?
