Allow Me to Introduce Myself
Hello and welcome to my new home, Inside Fatherhood. I have been looking forward to this for some time now. A little bit about myself.. my name is Steve Remington and I am a full time Stay at Home Father with 4 kids, and yes… one more on the way (Due in Jan.). I got a comment the other day, “What… are you trying to establish a basketball team?” My rebuttal, “Heck no, a baseball team with a DH…” My wife and I love children and our lives revolve around them.
I have been a full time Stay at Home Dad for 3 full years. Those 3 years have been up and down, but the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Talk to any SAHD or SAHM and they will probably tell you the same thing.
Ah let’s see… a little history about myself… well it started long ago in the summer of 1975…. when I…. OK nevermind all that… I am 31 years old, grew up in rural Maine, was a jock… captain of the soccer team, alpine ski team, and played a lot of baseball. Left hander… pitched, played 1st base, left and center field… batted 1st in the batting order… I graduated high school in 1993 and from there headed off to college for 4 miserable years where I earned a Bachelors degree in Business/Management.
Soon after I got married to my wife and it was all down…. I mean uphill from there. 4 1/2 kids later here I am.
In my next post I will explain a little more in detail about this blog and what to expect from it.

You need to get those kids on skates and start a hockey team. Look forward to your postings and good luck with the new blog.

If we have enough kids we’ll skew the average of 1.4 kids here in Maine. Maybe by the time my wife hits 40 we can get that state average up to 2.0
Same as my blood/alcohol level… hehe

I write the InsideMotherhood blog Steve, and I’m so glad to welcome you to b5. I’ve been here since Jan (gamesindustrywire.com), and only recently added InsideMotherhood and Pittwatch (drool) to my b5 blogs.
I look forward to working with you, but I had to comment and share that I also have 4 (no 1/2 expected) little ones and I am 31. So, are we long lost twins or something? ;)

Hi Steve, and welcome to your new home.
Although I am childless (by choice, it’s okay), I have the utmost admiration, respect, and usually awe for people who choose to parent. I think it’s wonderful to have a dad’s perspective, too.

Looks good Rem. The more us SAHD’s can get our experiences out there the better! Think it helps other Dads know they’re not alone, and other folks understand our challenges and joys better. Good luck!

Dennis, I can’t take credit for the looks of the blog. The design team created it. I think it was Duncan but don’t quote me on that…
